He still heals

Last week, we had a team of 7 people come and serve with us from a ministry called XXI Stones in Champaign, Illinois. The team arrived on Sunday and started working on replacing the roof on on our main building. Tuesday, the plan was to work on the roof again, but at about 10am, one of the team members, Mike, fell through the roof. The One by One staff was in the middle of our weekly staff meeting in another room. We heard the unmistakable noise, but hoped that somehow we were mistaken. We were not, and instead found Mike groaning in pain on the concrete floor from his 15 foot fall through the roof. In moments, his wife (who was also on the team) was down from the roof and both of them were crying out to God. The staff and team waited and prayed, begging the Lord to save his life, until the ambulance showed up to take him to the hospital. He received several stitches in his face, and was told that he had fractured vertebrae in his spine. Praise God that he did have brain or more serious spine or nerve injuries! Mike was able to fly home with the team on Sunday and has since seen several specialists. Though back surgery was a major possibility, he found out that he won’t need it after all. Today, Mike posted this message on his facebook page…

Hey friends and family. Crash Von Holten here. I cannot even begin to express my love and gratitude to all of you over the past week. God is so good and so faithful I just want to climb up on the rooftop and scream my love for him. (wait, that's how I got here in the first place). If any of you who are my friends on here don't believe God still does miracles please call me, we need to talk. I heard these words from the spinal specialist today, "Michael, in my opinion you are cured. All you need is time.". Are you kidding me? 8 days ago I was supposed to be fitted for my wings and robe and today I am cured! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!! In your face Satan, you can't touch the power of my Father! I could go on for days but had to let this little bit out. If you don't know my Father, I would be happy to introduce you.

What an incredible testimony of the power and protection of God. He is alive and active in the lives of believers today.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.  - Ephesians 3:20-21
