Joanna’s Graduation

On June 8th, Chase’s younger sister Joanna graduated from high school and we were so excited to be able to celebrate with her. She has been attending Nicaragua Christian Academy and living with us here in Nicaragua for the past two years.

As you can tell, we were really excited for her! We were also very proud of her, especially when we all found out that day that she was graduating 3rd in her class (of 22).

Chase’s brother David, a teacher at NCA, had been invited to be the keynote speaker for the graduation, so we all really enjoyed hearing from him. It definitely makes a graduation speaker less boring when you are related to them.

Tracy and Orell, Chase’s parents, also came down to be a part of the celebration festivities, and we enjoyed spending time with them while they were here.

After the graduation, there was an incredibly nice formal dinner and celebration. Chase was Joanna’s escort into the Masquerade-themed party. I’m pretty sure the whole event was nicer than our wedding!

It was a really fun evening. It’s not often that we get dressed up for an event in Nicaragua, so we enjoyed the night out celebrating Joanna.

A few days later, after Joanna had packed up all of her things, we took her to the airport for the final farewell from Nicaragua. Joanna will be attending John Brown University in the Fall and we are really excited for what God has in store for her over the next four years in college.

  1. Hey, that's a pretty good picture I took of all of you at the banquet -- it might be the best picture I took the entire time I was in Nicaragua!
